Endeavour Asset Management

Distress in markets presents opportunity.  In 2008 we identified four particular opportunities in the real estate and leisure marina sectors.


Firstly, the once in a cycle opportunity to invest in highly distressed listed and privately owned debt and equity assets. In 2008 we launched Endeavour Capital Partners to operate in the real estate private equity sector.

 

Secondly, we saw the frustration of many investors and banks who had backed investment managers to execute investment and asset management strategies, only to find that the asset management platforms they believed they had invested in were either not capable of delivering value-add strategies or in some cases were non-existent. In 2009 we established Endeavour Asset Management which now manages more than €830m of assets.

 

Thirdly, regulators in certain markets such as Italy were taking steps to grow the property funds market and have made ownership of assets through regulated fund structures particularly attractive for investors. In 2010 we hope to create Endeavour Investment Management, a regulated Italian investment management platform.

 

Lastly, given our historic direct experience in the marina investment sector, we believed and continue to believe that the leisure marina and associated real estate sector has a particularly strong investment case, is ripe for consolidation and can be built into a niche institutional investment class.  In 2010 we are launching Endeavour Marina Investment to invest in and manage marinas. 

 

We also firmly believe in forming Strategic Partnerships with appropriate best in class operators whose businesses compliment our own. Since 2008 we have formed two Strategic Partnerships.  In the marina sector Endeavour has invested in and is strategically aligned with marina network manager and developer Marinedi SpA.  In Italian property management we have invested in and partnered with a leading manager Sovigest SpA.
